He defeats a fearsome hound as a boy; trains under the female-warrior Scáthach in Scotland; and, single-handedly resists Queen Medb of Connacht's army in the Cattle Raid of Cooley. The play retells the legend of the Hound of Ulster in a humorous, yet respectful, way.
