This Christmas play highlights the importance of family, friends and giving.
This drama script is a perfect Christmas play for performance by kids of different ages and abilities - primarily for children and students of elementary schools and primary schools.
Suitable for family audiences.
Sandy is a ten year old who believes in the magic of Christmas. His best friends are Snowflake his dog and Mr Greenfingers the elderly gardener. He longs to make friends with the orphans next door, but his father doesn’t wish him to do so. Mr O’Neil, Sandy’s father, has little time for his son and is busy pursuing a banking career. He certainly doesn’t have time for Christmas. With the help of Snowflake and Mr Greenfingers, Sandy makes friends with the orphans. However, Mr O’Neil, and his butler Mr Shine, do not approve.
Mr O’Neil takes a business trip to Santaville, in order to close down Mr Claus’ business, answering Christmas letters from children, because it is unprofitable. Mr O’Neil doesn’t understand that by making the world a happier place everyone profits. On his way out of Mr Claus’ office, Miss Kindheart slips a random letter into Mr O’Neil’s pocket. It is from Sandy and explains how he wants to be like a true family with his father and celebrate Christmas as they did when Sandy’s mother was alive. However, in the end, Sandy selflessly only asks that the orphans have enough food and clothing. The letter drops from Mr O’Neil’s pocket in the hotel reception and is read to him by the receptionist.
Now Mr O’Neil realises how wrong he has been. He disguises himself as one of the delivery team who take Christmas food and presents to the orphans’ house. Everyone is amazed when the delivery of Christmas cheer arrives, but the biggest surprise is when Mr O’Neil takes off his disguise and explains to the orphans, and their carer, that from now on he’ll be a better and more generous neighbour.
Sandy hugs his father and they return to their home to put up Christmas decorations together as a family again. Finally, at last, it begins to snow.
